TWO WAYS TO START

Who needs support right now?

Support for you

Talk through communication, boundaries and the challenges you are facing with your son. You know your family. Ray brings another perspective and practical next steps.

Mentoring for your son

A space to talk about confidence, emotions, friendships, decisions, responsibility and direction. The relationship starts with listening, then builds towards steps he is willing to take.

This is not about teaching you how to parent. Sometimes a young person needs someone outside the family who can listen, relate and offer a different perspective.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS RAY CONNECT

Real conversations.
Consistent support.

Ray is a former Behaviour Specialist, youth mentor and STEP NOW co-founder, with seven years of experience across schools, pupil referral units, prison settings and community work.

That experience informs a grounded approach: build trust, understand the person and work on manageable next steps. Mentoring supports personal development and does not replace specialist care.

A simple first step.

Please read the service overview, prices and terms before enquiring about your free 20-minute Zoom introduction. We discuss the paid support, suitability and your questions. Age eligibility, session format, fees, parent involvement and safeguarding arrangements are agreed before any booking or payment. Young adults aged 18 or over can enquire for themselves.

Consent, privacy and safeguarding

For under-18s, mentoring requires parent or guardian consent and the young person’s willingness to participate. Parent attendance, the session setting and emergency contact arrangements are discussed individually before sessions are agreed.

Ray explains what stays private, what progress updates may be shared and when a concern about harm may need to be shared with appropriate people or services. Absolute secrecy cannot be promised.

Contact with under-18s uses agreed, parent-visible professional channels. There is no recording or public use of a young person’s story or image without separate permission.

Enquiries are welcome. Young-person bookings and payments open only once eligibility and the written safeguarding arrangements have been confirmed.

What happens after I enquire?

Ray discusses your needs and the young person’s willingness to take part. Ray agrees the support, fees, terms and safeguarding before payment. Once everything is ready and payment is confirmed, he sends your private joining details and resource links.

Session length, cancellations, rescheduling, communication channels and agreed check-ins are confirmed in writing. Mentoring is not therapy or emergency support; if specialist help is needed, that is discussed.
